78) Sossusvlei

Tja.

The journey continues from Swakopmund to Sossusvlei. The first thing I ask on the way is a stop to see the flamingos. But then they quickly flee from us.

We make a few stops along the way. The first with one of the most photographed tree in Namibia. These trees are extremely viable in a dry climate. In addition, they are also beautiful.

In the evening we reach our campsite shortly before Sossusvlei and I am fascinated by the huge weaver nests. Here they built a real community. The little birds fly in and out ... so fast that you have almost no chance to see them.

In the evening I walk around the area a little and find a quiet place and company to enjoy the last hours of this day. The colors of the sun touching the earth is just amazing and as so often, on the opposite side the colors are impressive as well. Today the moon completes the picture!

After dinner I spent a magical music moment with Dave. Thank you!

The next day we got up early and join the column that starts towards Deadvlei when the gate opens. After we marvel at the sunrise at dune 45 we continue to the Deadvlei. This is a wondrous photogenic place ... as I can see from my friends' photos ... however I hardly take a picture today.

You wonder why! Well. Somehow the energy of the desert knocked me out and hit me so emotionally that I sat alone on a dune, far away from the crowds of people, crying, laughing for me, listening to music, singing and coming to rest. A very special moment. Even if I could have taken a lot of great pictures here, I don't regret taking the time to rest.

The journey continues south. Our camping tonight is not very inviting, but the hill next door almost offers itself to look at the view. So Rita, Mick and I climb up there and finally get creative.

Another valuable day is coming to an end!
