So, heute war es nun soweit, wovon Andrea und ich schon lange gesprochen und uns darauf gefreut haben. Wir umarmten uns in der Arrival Hall des Flughafens von Kuala Lumpur.
Bereits im Auto hatte wir uns nonstop Dinge zu erzählen.
Für mich war es toll, nach Helene und Patrizia nun erneut jemanden zu Besuch zu haben und mich wieder mal auf Deutsch mitteilen zu können.
Wir fuhren mit Grab zu Debs nach Hause, die trotz der späten Stunde auf unsere Ankunft wartete. Wir durften uns bei ihr einquartieren und von nun an in den nächsten Tagen aus dem 16. Stockwerk auf die Stadt blicken.
Am nächsten Tag führte uns die Suche nach einer SIM Karte führte uns ins Bangsar Village. Hier fanden wir ein tolles Kaffee. Man sass da in einem Möbel- und Dekoausstellungsraum und trank Kaffee. So toll und so nette Leute.
Die Petronas Towers sahen wir leider nicht aus dem Zimmer raus und so erklärte Andrea diese zu sehen als ihr grosses und einziges Ziel an diesem Tag.
Überrascht von einem starken langanhaltendem Gewitter schien dieser Ziel vorerst unerreichbar. Doch Malaysias Himmel lichtete sich dann doch noch und so fuhren wir zu den Türmen. Wir suchten uns eine Station in der Nähe aus. Doch als wir diese verliessen, waren da "nur" andere Hochhäuser und die Türme konnten wir nicht sehen. Doch auf der Karten schienen sie in der Nähe... wo nur. Wir versuchten mit Hilfe des Ofline-Navis die Türme zu finden.... als wir sie endlich sahen, stellte sich heraus, dass wir die ganze Zeit direkt unter ihnen waren. Doch da wir die Sicht von der Seite hatten, sahen wir nur einen und erkannten ihn nicht.
Also die Petronas Towers sind wirklich eindrücklich und wir hatten Andrea's Kuala Lumpur Ziel erreicht. Mehr wollte sie nicht. Doch sie entschied sich dann doch, auch am nächsten Tag nochmals in die Stadt zu kommen. Der Weg zu unserem Tagesziel führte uns an einem Upsidetown-Museum vorbei, welches wir spontan besuchten. Das Tagesziel jedoch waren der Menara Tower und der Canopy Way auf dem Programm. Beides ein Besuch wert. Das eine spottbillig... nämlich gratis, das andere extrem teuer. Auf dem Canopy Way sahen wir Tiere und Pflanzen und auf dem Tower konnten wir die Stadt von oben begutachten. Wunderbar.
Am Nachmittag fuhren wir mit dem Hop on Hop of Bus holpernd durch die Stadt... wir erwischten einen uralten Bus und es wurde uns fast ein kleines bisschen schlecht darin. Doch wir hielten durch und kurvten wortwörtlich mit dem Bus zwischen den Hochhäusern durch. Am Central Market stiegen wir aus und schlenderten zwischen den Ständen durch.
Als Tagesabschluss besuchten wir mit Debs und einer ihrer Freundinnen die Skybar des Traders Hotel und hatten eine perfekte Sonnenuntergangssicht auf die Petronas Towers. Wortwörtlich eine Happy Hour... inklusive Drinks! Lohnenswert und eines unserer Highlights der Stadt!
An unserem letzten Tag komplettierten wir die Hop on Hop of Holperfahrt und besuchten das "3D-Museum". Das war wirklich witzig und so war Andrea für kurz Kate auf der Titanic und ich die Sängerin der Beatles.
Den vorläufig letzten Abend in Kuala Lumpur genossen wir auf Debs Balkon und wurden von der Stadt mit einer farblich fantastischen Sonnenuntergans-Simmung verabschiedet.
So, today it was the day, which Andrea and I have spoken for a long time and looking forward to it. We hugged each other at the arrival hall of Kuala Lumpur airport.
Already in the Grab to the town, we had nonstop things to tell. For me, it was great to have someone to visit again after Helene and Patrizia and to be able to communicate in German again.
We drove to Debs home, which waited for our arrival despite the late hour. We were allowed to stay with her and had from now on in the next few days a great city-view from the 16th floor.
The next day the search for a SIM card took us to Bangsar Village. Here we found a great coffee. You sat in a furniture and decoration room and drank coffee. So great and so nice people.
Unfortunately, we did not see the Petronas Towers out of our 16th floor-room and so Andrea made seeing the towers to her biggest and only target for that day.
Surprised by a strong long-lasting thunderstorm, this goal seemed unattainable for the time being. However, Malaysia's sky finally cleared and we drove to the towers. We picked a station nearby. But when we left, there were "only" other skyscrapers and we could not see the towers. But on the cards they seemed close ... where only. We tried to find the towers with the help of the Ofline Navis .... when we finally saw them, it turned out that we were right under them all the time. But since we had the view from the side, we saw only one and did not recognize them.
So the Petronas Towers are really impressive and we had reached Andrea's Kuala Lumpur goal. She did not want any more. But then she decided to come to the city the next day. ;-)
The way to our destination led us past an Upsidetown Museum, which we spontaneously visited.
However, the day's destination was Menara Tower and Canopy Way. Both worth a visit. The one dirt cheap ... namely free, the other extremely expensive. On the Canopy Way we saw animals and plants and on the tower we could see the city from above. Wonderful.
In the afternoon we drove with the Hop on Hop of Bus bumping through the city ... we caught an ancient bus and it was almost a little bit bad in it. But we kept going and literally cornered by bus between the skyscrapers. At the Central Market we got out and strolled among the stalls.
We finished the wonderful day with Debs and one of her friends a the Traders Hotel Skybar and had a perfect sunset view of the Petronas Towers. And literally a Happy Hour... with drinks! Breathtaking and one of our highlights of the city!
On our last day we completed the Hop on Hop of bumpy ride and visited the "3D Museum". That was really funny and so Andrea was for short Kate on the Titanic and I the Beatles singer.
For the time being last night in Kuala Lumpur, we enjoyed Deb's balcony and the city said goodbye with a fantastic sunset mood.
