Heute erkunde ich Cardiff. Diese Stadt hat es in sich... vor allem IN den Läden. Ich schlendere durch die vielen Arkaden und erkunde das Schloss. Nach anfänglichem Unbehagen laufe ich sogar durch die Mauer, die im 2. Weltkrieg als Schutz galt. Durch den Lautsprecher hört man Sirenen, Bombenangriffe und Radioaufnahmen von damals. Mir ist es unheimlich und vor allem lässt es mich im entferntesten erahnen, wie es wohl in der Ukraine zur Zeit klingt. An den Wänden hängen Plakate von damals mit Aussagen, die leider nicht aktueller sein könnten. Ich bin froh, frei und nach einer gewissen Zeit wieder im Freien zu sein.
Nach ein Paar Stunden sind mein Portemonnaie und meine Füsse in etwa gleich müde und ich fahre zurück nach Dinas Powys.
Heute bekoche ich Deborah und wir verbringen einen amüsanten Abend mit "Garvin & Stacy" einer typisch englischen Serie, die in der Gegend gefilmt wurde.
Today I explore Cardiff. This city has it all... especially IN the shops. I stroll through the many arcades and explore the castle. After some initial discomfort, I even walk through the wall, which was used as protection during World War 2. Through the loudspeaker I hear sirens, bombings and radio recordings from back then. It gives me the creeps, and above all, it makes me remotely imagine what it must sound like in Ukraine at the moment. Posters from back then hang on the walls with statements that unfortunately could not be more topical. I am glad to be free and to be outdoors again after a while.
After a couple of hours, my wallet and my feet are about equally tired and I drive back to Dinas Powys.
Today I cook for Deborah and we spend an amusing evening with "Garvin & Stacy" a typical English series filmed in the area.
